NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has announced that he held talks with Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev and Romanian President Nicușor Dan. According to Rutte, the discussions focused on security in the Black Sea and recent attacks on commercial shipping.
In a post on the social media platform X, Rutte stressed that the Alliance is stepping up its readiness along the eastern flank, including by strengthening its counter-drone capabilities. “NATO will continue to work closely with its Black Sea Allies, tailoring its deterrence and defence posture to their needs,” he said.
The meeting took place at the NATO Secretary General’s residence in Brussels.
