The Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, on Sunday, continued his advancement of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope drive as he visited Kubau and Ikara Local Government Areas to commission completed projects, which he facilitated as part of his flagging-off of 86 projects in Zone 1 Senatorial District of Kaduna State.
Speaker Abbas, who also performed the groundbreaking for other projects in the two local governments, said the APC/Tinubu-led administration has come up with projects to address core aspects of their lives.
The projects included a primary health centre located in Zabi; groundbreaking for the construction of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Study Centre and a hall in Anchau; the construction of one block of 10 classrooms with offices and toilets on one suspended floor in the same area; as well as the construction of a library in Kargi, all in Kubau Local Government Area.
In Ikara Local Government, Speaker Abbas performed the commissioning of a primary health centre and the groundbreaking for the construction of the road from Sani Ahmed Junction to Central Primary School; the construction of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Study Centre with a hall, and one block of 10 classrooms with offices and toilets on one suspended floor.
“We have come up with projects that speak to three stages of life,” he said, adding that “The Primary Healthcare Centre protects the family. The classroom blocks prepare the child. The National Open University Study Centre and library extend learning into adulthood.
“From the first cry of a newborn child to the ambition of an adult learner, government must remain present. We begin with the commissioning of the Primary Healthcare Centre in Zabi. Most health emergencies begin quietly. A child develops a fever. A pregnant woman feels unusual pain. An elderly person struggles to breathe. At such moments, distance can become dangerous, and delay can become deadly,” the Speaker noted.
Speaker Abbas, who listed the number of federal institutions to include four universities the president has brought to the state in just three years of his administration, said that Kaduna, after the late Sardauna Sir Ahmadu Bello, has never had a friend in government like President Tinubu in over 50 years of its existence.
He said aside from endorsing and supporting him to become Speaker of the House in 2023, President Tinubu has approved the establishment of the Federal University of Education, Zaria; the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kafanchan, and the University of Petroleum in Kaduna as the recent upgrade of Kaduna Polytechnic to the University of Technology.
Speaker Abbas argued that such a “friend” must be appreciated and supported no matter what, disclosing that both Ikara and Kubau are going to have an additional 18 to 20 projects each in the 2027 national budget with the President’s approval.
He called on the contractors handling the projects to remember that children will depend on the quality of their work, saying, “Build carefully. Use the proper materials. Follow the approved design. Do not exchange durability for quick profit. We are not building for an inspection. We are building for a generation.”
Both in Kubau and Ikara, the message was constant: the surest way to protect the progress being made is to ensure nothing happens to the partnership that exists between the Speaker, Governor Uba Sani and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by voting for all APC candidates in the coming general elections.
“The surest way to protect this progress is to preserve the partnership behind it. President Tinubu has created a national framework for reform and investment. Governor Uba Sani has brought that vision into Kaduna communities. I have used the mandate you entrusted to me to attract projects and defend the interests of our people in Abuja. We must keep this partnership working.
“In 2027, support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term. Support Governor Uba Sani. Support APC candidates who will cooperate across every level of government. Vote for continuity with accountability. Vote for experience with energy. Vote for work that can be seen and a future that can be secured.
“These investments also reflect President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to human capital development under the Renewed Hope Agenda. The administration has expanded student financing, invested in educational facilities, and supported the revitalisation of primary healthcare centres across the country,” he said.
“It is only President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who has demonstrated the courage to embark on difficult reforms that others before him were afraid to touch. And having redesigned the foundation and trajectory of the country, the days of pain and difficulty are almost over, only if we all support the President to return and continue his good work.
“In 2027, support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term. Support Governor Uba Sani. Support APC candidates who will cooperate across every level of government. Vote for continuity with accountability. Vote for experience with energy. Vote for work that can be seen and a future that can be secured,” he said.
The Speaker was accompanied by the former Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Mukhtar Ramalan Yero; the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Abdulkadir Mua’zu Meyere, the Chairman of Zaria Local Government, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad, among other prominent indigenes of the zone. Just like the Speaker, they all called on the people to vote for President Tinubu and other APC candidates in the coming elections.
