Lucy Hale would have no problems shaving her hair for a role.
The 37-year-old actress has undergone all sorts of style transformations over the years, and she has insisted it's easy to change her looks when she has no real attachment to any of them in the first place.
Speaking to PEOPLE magazine, she said: “Whatever job I’m working on kind of dictates the hair.
“If someone was like, ‘You gotta shave your hair,’ I would. If someone said, ‘You gotta go purple,’ I would.
"I’m not really attached to my hair in that way and I think it would be really fun.”
Lucy's current hair colour is her natural brunette tone, and she has spent the last year growing it out.
She added: "I’m gonna do it for a little bit and then maybe chop it. I do miss having short hair.”
In the past, Lucy has embraced everything from a black bob to pink highlights.
She spent almost seven years as Aria Montgomery on Pretty Little Liars, and she took inspiration from her character's "loud" fashion and beauty choices.
She explained: “I think when I was chopping it, dyeing it... It’s interesting because now I look back and that was when I was like really working on myself as well.
“So it’s almost like I was trying on different looks to figure out what I liked best. I think that might’ve been a projection on my part.”
Since hitting her mid-30s, Lucy has started to embrace a "natural vibe" as she has become more comfortable in her own skin.
She added: “I feel like there was a big shift in my 30s. And I think it happens for everyone.
"You sink into your skin a little bit more. You have more of an identity. You have more self-acceptance.
"And I think because of the internal work I’ve done, I’m only more accepting of myself externally. So I do gravitate more towards a natural vibe these days.”
Last year, Lucy opened up on her decision to get rid of her tattoos.
Speaking on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, she said: "It does take a lot to cover them for acting, and a lot of my characters don't have tattoos.
"So it's more time in the makeup chair. But also, I just feel like I've changed so much in the last couple of years, that it almost feels like the tattoos don't fit who I am anymore."
The Fantasy Island star has opted to keep a tattoo that reads 'I love you' in her grandmother's handwriting but admitted that at one point she had more than 20 separate works of art spread across her body.
She said: "I got some of those tattoos and they were really poorly done and not really thought through. I got the one on my neck removed and I have my nieces and nephews birthdays so I'll keep that.
"I'm gonna keep a few of them. At one point in my life, I had 22 tattoos."
