On Oct. 11 around 8:30 p.m., Inverness County District RCMP responded to a report of a collision in Port Hastings at the roundabout on Highway 105.
Officers learned that a Kia Forte coming out of the roundabout struck two vehicles, a Ford F150 and a Toyota 4Runner, waiting to enter the roundabout. The driver of the Kia left the scene on foot.
One person reported injuries in the accident. The exact injuries sustained were not released.
Officers used a remotely piloted aircraft system (drone) to attempt to locate the driver who fled. He was not observed with the drone.
The driver was later identified as Adam MacLean, 38, of Melville, Pictou County. He’s charged with failure to stop after an accident resulting in bodily harm and is scheduled to appear at Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court on Dec. 21.
