Roeland Park (Kans.) Bishop Miege EDGE Jaylen Johnson got down to Texas Tech for a visit over the weekend. Following the trip, which included Johnson seeing the Red Raiders go to 6-0 with a 28-point win over Arizona State, it is clear they will be a school in high consideration in this recruitment.
“Texas Tech is a great place, man,” Johnson said. “I got a quick tour of the facilities along with campus, and I had a chance to talk with Coach Jac Smith, the outside linebackers coach. He was honest with me, and I really liked the way he carried himself with my family.”
Smith also connected with general manager James Blanchard.
“Coach Blanchard was super cordial to me and my family, and I loved everything about him as a person,” Johnson said.
He added, “The game against Arizona State was also great because of their win in dominating fashion.”
Johnson has been to Kansas and Kansas State, and those in-state schools are two other top schools in the recruitment. He is visiting Iowa State coming up.
