Federal minister Anika Wells has temporarily closed her Brisbane electorate office after a person allegedly made threatening remarks, prompting a police response.
The incident occurred at Ms Wells’ office in Nundah, in Brisbane’s north, on Wednesday.
Ms Wells confirmed on Friday the office would remain closed while security improvements were carried out.

“On Wednesday there was an incident at my electorate office where police were called,” she said.
“We made the decision to close the office temporarily while security improvements are made.
“Our staff deserve to feel safe at work and this kind of behaviour is always unacceptable.”
Ms Wells said her office would remain accessible to constituents despite the temporary closure.
“We will reopen as soon as possible and continue to be accessible to the community and contactable while this temporary closure is in place,” she said.
The closure comes after independent federal MP Helen Haines was seriously injured in an alleged targeted attack outside her electorate office on Monday.
Dr Haines lost both legs after a man allegedly struck her with a Toyota LandCruiser.
Investigators initially feared the alleged attack was politically motivated.
There is no suggestion the two incidents are linked.
