Dominic Fike is in crunch time of the rollout for a new album, but like so many musical artists today, he's finding his greatest success from deep in his catalog. "Babydoll," a track from his 2018 EP Don't Forget About Me, Demos, caught a wave of popularity on TikTok this year and has since caught on at radio. Today the song rises to a new peak of #10 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Fike's first top 10 hit.
Meanwhile, Fike's third full-length How To Quit Smoking is out next week, and he's promoting it today with the release of new single "Pangea." It's a breezy acoustic track that maintains Fike's signature genre-blurring ethos, merging the beachy sounds of Jack Johnson and Sublime with a more pronounced hip-hop influence. I feel like it would have been a hit in 2002, and judging by how things are going with "Babydoll," maybe it'll be a hit in 2026.
"Pangea" comes with a video featuring Fike in a seaplane over Vancouver during his recent tour, directed by his longtime collaborators Reed Bennett and Kevin Abstract. Watch below.
You might as well also check out prior single "Small Town." It matches Fike with Gabriel Jacoby and Emma Ogier, who caught our attention with her own recent single "Hands Tied." Like "Pangea," "Small Town" has a video by Bennett and Abstract.
How To Quit Smoking is out 10/30 on Columbia.
