National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has called on Nigerians to support the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, saying that other presidential candidates cannot match Tinubu’s achievements in the last three years.
“We will ask Nigerians to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 because we believe he is the most credible among all the candidates presented.
“All others have been tested, and their profiles cannot match what Mr. President has done in three years, because we believe that the reform agenda and the development priorities deserve continuation beyond 2027,” Yilwatda said at the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in Abuja on Wednesday.
The national chairman said that tremendous progress had been made since the President was sworn in to lead Nigeria.
He listed some of the achievements to include roads, rail, port and gas projects, agricultural infrastructure, and digital connectivity.
Yilwatda said the APC has over 261,000 party executives, 31 governors and “two supporting wingers” from the South-West and South-East, making veiled reference to governors Ademola Adeleke of Osun State and Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State.
“No political party in Nigeria has our structure. We have over 261,000 party exco from the national to the ward; that is the strength of our party,” he said.
“We have 31 governors plus two support wingers — one from the South West and one from the South-East; they are overlapping from APGA and also from the Acoord party.”
He said that the collective efforts and confidence of the party would determine the outcome of its campaign in 2027.
The national chairman commended the women of the party for their support.
He assured party members that everyone matters in the APC.
Yilwatda, however, urged them to go back and organise their polling units.
Also present at the inauguration were President Tinubu and his wife, Oluremi; Vice President Kashim Shettima and his wife, Nana; APC governors, governors Adeleke and Soludo; and the leadership of the National Assembly, led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abass.
Others are APC members in the National Assembly and state houses of assembly, and political appointees.
