They say: Part of the limited-edition holiday collection from Guerlain that sees the French beauty brand team up with fashion designer Kevin Germanier for some sparkling seasonal releases, the crystal-covered makeup products include the iconic Guerlain Meteorites, along with a four-colour eyeshadow palette and this special Rouge G lipstick case. The case can be paired with the long-wearing lipstick shade of your choice. There’s also a covetable Guerlain x Germanier Advent Calendar.

We say: This cosmetic collaboration is a stunning holiday release. The products positively glisten inside and out. A longtime fan of the brand’s unique Rouge G cases, which include a flip-open mirror for chic, on-the-go application, she was delighted to add this case to her Guerlain lipstick collection. It would also make a perfect gift for a beauty fan on your holiday gift list.

They say: The first refillable-format cleansing balm from the French brand La Rosée, this gentle cleanser uses cherry oil to remove makeup from the face, lips and eyes — even waterproof formulas — while also hydrating skin.

We say: Cleansing balms can be polarizing. People seem to either love them or hate them. While not a product for those who like a squeaky-clean feel to skin after cleansing, they’re a great option for those with sensitive skin or a compromised skin barrier. Our tester applied a scrape of the balm onto dry skin and massaged it around the face. The product emulsifies with the addition of water, washing away all the day’s impurities and makeup without leaving skin feeling stripped.

They say: A new limited-edition face palette from Ilia that featured four face makeup hues in one including a highlighter, bronzer and two blushes. The long-wearing powders feature edelweiss extract to smooth skin and winged kelp extract to hydrate. The palettes are available in three shade collections: Botanical Blur, Coastal Bloom and Poppy Fields.

We say: Packaged in a reusable compact, this product is a one-and-done option for the face. Our tester used it to create an effortless everyday makeup look. The baked powders are pigmented, so a little goes a long way. Though, you can always build up application to add more drama. Applied with a fluffy brush, she found it gave skin a look of airbrushed colour wherever applied.
