Troops of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have launched a manhunt for persons suspected of destroying a large portion of a cabbage farm in Rakum village, Ropp District, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident was reported at about 9:45 a.m. on October 10, prompting troops of Sector 4 of the operation to respond.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the troops confirmed on arrival that the perpetrators had used a cutlass to cut down a large portion of the farm before fleeing.
The suspects, believed to be herders, had escaped before the arrival of the troops.

Efforts are ongoing to track down and apprehend those responsible for the destruction.
The incident raises concerns about the impact of farm destruction on agricultural production and farmers’ livelihoods in the affected community.
