Anthropic is launching a new AI consultancy business in Europe after partnering with London-based private equity firm Hg, according to reports.
The company behind some of the world’s most advanced AI models is expected to launch its consultancy firm by the end of the year, the Financial Times reported, set to be based in London and Berlin.
The AI-focused firm will primarily target B2B software companies and white-collar groups as clients, funded by Anthropic through its balance sheet capital, with the British private equity firm investing via its managed funds.
The move reportedly aims to generate new revenue streams for the Claude maker and build momentum for its planned initial public offering (IPO), as well as offset some of its high data centre infrastructure costs. This comes as a leaked draft IPO disclosure earlier this week reported that Anthropic had a net loss of over $80bn for the first half of 2026.
Anthropic was approached for comment. Hg declined to comment.
Concern for traditional consultancy sector
Anthropic’s decision to deploy its own dedicated AI experts is set to intensify competition with established IT consulting giants such as Accenture and the Big Four, Deloitte, EY, KPMG, and PwC.
This move will pose a significant challenge to the traditional consulting sector, as the industry struggles to adapt to the rapidly evolving AI landscape while spending millions of pounds on tech investments to help clients adopt new technologies.
This move by Anthropic also follows the tech giant’s February shakeup of the legal AI industry, when it launched a new legal tool that sent shares in Europe’s biggest data, publishing, and legal software groups tumbling in the weeks that followed.
