The National Planning Commission (NPC) will host the second Namibia Public-Private Forum on 25 and 26 November under the theme ‘From Commitment to Competitiveness: Accelerating Investment, PPPs and Job Creation’.
The forum, chaired by president Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, aims to accelerate investment, advance public-private partnerships (PPPs), strengthen competitiveness and create sustainable jobs.
This was announced on Tuesday by NPC director general Kaire Mbuende in a statement.
He says the forum follows the inaugural one held in October 2025, where 171 solutions were proposed and 34 presidential commitments made. Three presidential task forces on economic recovery, housing, land delivery and sanitation, and health were subsequently established.
“The task forces submitted their first reports to Cabinet earlier this year, prompting presidential directives to relevant government offices, ministries and agencies for implementation,” he says.
Last year, Nandi-Ndaitwah said the second forum would shift the focus from commitments to implementation and measurable results.
“The credibility of our development agenda depends on implementation,” she said, calling on government institutions to deliver on directives, remove obstacles and report progress.
The NPC, Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board and the forum’s coordinating committee are monitoring implementation, Mbuende says.
Government institutions have been urged to provide timely progress updates, while the private sector is encouraged to mobilise investment, develop viable projects and create employment.
He says the forum will also support Namibia’s Sixth National Development Plan objectives, with emphasis on accountability and tangible economic benefits.
