The Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS) pensioners can submit their Digital Life Certificate (DLC), or Jeevan Pramaan, without going to a bank or a pension office. In a social media post on X, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has revealed that India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) has doorstep Jeevan Pramaan submission service, which EPS pensioners can use with the help of a postman or a Grameen Dak Sevak.
EPS pensioners need to submit a life certificate every year to continue getting their pension without a break. EPS pensioners can submit their life certificate at any time of the year provided it is submitted within the stipulated timeframe from the date of the last submission. For example, if they submitted their Jeevan Pramaan last year on October 20, they need to submit it by October 19 to continue getting their pension. They can submit it after October 19 also, but in that case, their pension may be delayed.
How EPS pensioners can submit their life certificateEPS pensioners can verify their earlier submission details. They can also use the UMANG app and the Face RD app to complete the process digitally, or request a doorstep visit through the IPPB.
How EPS pensioners can submit a life certificate through IPPB
Pensioners who cannot visit a bank or a pension office can use the IPPB's doorstep service to submit their Digital Life Certificate. The service is available to both IPPB and non-IPPB customers.
To use the facility, pensioners can contact their nearest post office or request a doorstep visit by a postman or a Grameen Dak Sevak. Pensioners can also call the IPPB doorstep banking helpline at 033-22029000.
Once the biometric authentication and submission are completed successfully, a Pramaan ID will be generated.
