South Africans online were divided between awe and sheer panic over the big cat's nonchalant walkthrough

A leopard did not get the memo that the dining deck was reserved for guests only. On 12 October 2026, TikTok user @cyril.mthiyane posted a video that stopped South Africa mid-scroll.

The handheld footage was filmed at what appears to be a luxury outdoor lodge. It shows a leopard moving with total confidence through an open-air seating area and along a wooden walkway while a small group of onlookers watches in stunned silence.

The big cat simply strolls through as if it owns the place. There was no barrier between the two areas as wildlife moves freely between them, meaning guests at certain lodges can expect exactly this kind of encounter. Watch the leopard walk through the lodge below:

"I would check out the very next day."

@Just_Mokgadi wrote:

"Where is this place? I need to avoid it by all means."

@Ludwe joked:

"Giving the people what they paid for."

@Vuyo985 admitted:

"It definitely would have killed me. I doubt I'd be able to remain this calm 😭😭😭"

@Shayo wrote:

"Safe to say I would have soiled myself."
