Last week, the Los Angeles-based clothing label, launched by Kardashian and Skims co-founder Grede in 2016, held an event for content creators that prompted several to share how frustrating the experience was online.
Good American billed it as an invite-only preview to a New York City pop-up that would open to the public on Thursday, with early access to products, giveaways, and specialty drinks, according to screenshots shared on Reddit and TikTok.
Some creators are now claiming on social media that when they arrived, they encountered long lines that caused them to be unable to make it into the store at all.

Creator Taeya Wright said in a video that she was “super excited” to attend the event. Her invite reportedly included phrases like “exclusive” and “RSVP.”
Wright added that she’s based in Chicago, but because she likes to fly to New York for events from time to time, she booked flights and an Airbnb.
She arrived to the preview on Wednesday to find a line that “literally wrapped around the block,” according to her TikTok. It was filled with creators who, like her, claimed Good American invited them and gave them a specific time slot to attend during. Many of them “ended up being turned away at the door because the event ended before they could even get in,” she said, concluding that it was “a hot mess.”
