Indian painter and former Rajya Sabha MP Jogen Chowdhury passes away
The ailing artist was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Anandpur, South Kolkata.
He was put on ventilation on Saturday with the consent of his family. According to hospital sources, the artist has been suffering from incurable blood cancer for more than a year.
Recently, during Durga Puja, he was infected with a urinary tract infection. Since then, he has been admitted to the hospital.
It is learnt that the artist has undergone multiple chemo treatments in the last 14 months.
