Lotte Innovate (286940.KS) said on the 16th that it signed a memorandum of understanding with IT infrastructure specialist ITCEN CTS to ensure stable operation of the Ansan Global Cloud Center and to cooperate on data center projects going forward.
The agreement is designed to combine specialized personnel and IT infrastructure expertise to support the Ansan GCC outsourced operation contract that Lotte Innovate recently secured.
The Ansan GCC is a data center of about 40 megawatts being built in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, with completion scheduled for 2027. Lotte Innovate has signed a five-year outsourced operation contract with IGIS Asset Management and will oversee overall operations at the center. ITCEN CTS will provide specialized operating staff and infrastructure technology to help build a stable operating framework.
The two companies plan to use the agreement to seek cooperation opportunities in hyperscale and edge data centers and to develop new business through joint sales and marketing.
Lotte Innovate has also been strengthening partnerships for overseas expansion alongside its recent growth in the domestic data center market. On the 13th, it signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with CMC Group, a major Vietnamese IT company, agreeing to pursue cooperation in new business areas including hyperscale data centers.
"Data centers are a core infrastructure sector of growing importance as AI and cloud computing spread," an official at Lotte Innovate said. "Based on the project experience and operating capabilities we have built up at home, we will expand global partnerships and nurture the data center business as a medium- to long-term growth engine."
