Puerto Rican singer Jay Wheeler plays the Anfiteatro Imperial at Parque Viva, in La Guácima near San José, on Saturday 29 May 2027, with a 7 p.m. start. It is his only Costa Rica date on the La Voz Favorita world tour, and tickets went on general sale at eticket.cr on Monday 19 October 2026.

Prices start at ₡37,400 (about US$85) and top out at ₡68,600 (about US$156) for the central Golden Circle, with service charges included. The show is open to ages 12 and over, and minors must come with an adult.

Who Jay Wheeler Is

Jay Wheeler is the stage name of José Ángel López Martínez, a singer from Salinas, Puerto Rico. The Costa Rican daily La Nación describes a style that mixes reggaeton, pop, R&B and ballads, with the weight on romantic songs.

He built his audience through videos on social media before signing with Dynamic Records, and his debut album Platónico came out in 2019. His breakout hit, “La Curiosidad” with Myke Towers, reached number five on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart.

The tour takes its name from La Voz Favorita, the album he released in May 2026. Adrián Gutiérrez, general manager of the Costa Rican promoter Jogo, called him one of the most loved and most requested artists in urban music today.

The La Voz Favorita Tour and Its US Dates

The tour opens on 4 December 2026 in Tenerife, in Spain’s Canary Islands, and then crosses to North America. The schedule published with the announcement lists 16 US dates between 7 March and 15 April 2027, starting in Fort Myers, Florida.

Those include the Kaseya Center in Miami on 11 March, Barclays Center in Brooklyn on 24 March and the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles on 10 April. The US run closes at the Kia Center in Orlando on 15 April, according to the US Latin music site Latination.

The Latin American leg follows from late April, with Panama City on 27 May and Costa Rica two days later. After Costa Rica the tour moves on to Bogotá on 3 June and Santo Domingo on 5 June.

For US fans who miss the stateside shows, Costa Rica offers a later date in a country with direct flights from many US hubs. A Saturday night show also leaves the rest of a long weekend for the beach or the volcanoes.

Ticket Prices in Colones and Dollars

Eticket lists six price zones, and its page states that service charges are included in each price. Dollar figures here use 440.79 colones per US dollar, the closing rate on Friday 16 October 2026.

The cheapest seats are in the 500 Lateral zone at ₡37,400 (about US$85). The 500 Central and 400 Lateral zones both cost ₡43,800 (about US$99), and 400 Central costs ₡47,500 (about US$108).

Closest to the stage, the Golden Circle Lateral costs ₡62,500 (about US$142) and the Golden Circle Central ₡68,600 (about US$156). Teletica reported base prices of ₡30,000 (about US$68) to ₡55,000 (about US$125) before service charges were added.

An American Express presale opened on Thursday 15 October, and a presale for BAC cardholders ran from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 October. General sale began on Monday 19 October at 10 a.m., and eticket showed every zone in stock that day.

Parque Viva and How to Get There

Parque Viva is an events park in La Guácima, a district of the canton of Alajuela, west of the capital San José. The show uses the Anfiteatro Imperial, the park’s open-air amphitheatre.

Eticket gives the address the Costa Rican way, as 1.2 kilometres north and 700 metres east of the La Guácima football field. Visitors should not rely on street numbers and should set the park itself as the destination in a map or ride-hailing app.

Alajuela province is also home to Juan Santamaría International Airport, the country’s main international gateway. Visitors flying in for the show can stay near the airport or in Alajuela rather than in central San José.

Allow extra time on the roads to La Guácima before a big show, and agree on a meeting point if your group arrives separately. A taxi or ride-hailing app back to San José after the show may take time to arrive, so plan the return before the encore.

What It Means for You

US citizens do not need a visa for tourist stays in Costa Rica of under 180 days, though the State Department notes that the full 180 days is not guaranteed. A passport valid for the whole stay and a return or onward ticket are required at entry.

The State Department rates Costa Rica at Level 2, exercise increased caution, because of crime, in an advisory issued on 2 April 2026. Keep phones and bags close in the crowd and in parking areas, and avoid leaving anything visible in a car.

Costa Rica keeps the same clock all year, six hours behind UTC, so the 7 p.m. start on 29 May is 9 p.m. in New York and 6 p.m. in Los Angeles. Tickets are priced in colones, so a US card is charged at the issuer’s exchange rate on the day of purchase.

Children under 12 cannot attend, and minors aged 12 to 17 need an adult with them. Eticket says tickets may be refunded if the national commission that rates public shows sets a different age limit.

What Is Not Known

The organisers have not published a door time, a support act or a ticket limit per buyer. The official age rating from the commission that classifies public shows was still pending on 19 October 2026.

No shuttle buses or parking prices have been announced for this date. The role of One, named alongside Jogo in Teletica’s report of the announcement, has not been explained.

Teletica’s ticket report of 17 October calls the tour the LUF World Tour, while the announcement and La Nación used La Voz Favorita. Neither the promoter nor eticket has explained the two names.
