The pedestrian subway in Saidapet railway station on October 22, 2026
The pedestrian subway at Saidapet railway station is poorly maintained. A pile of garbage is occupying both the entrances of the subway: one at the railway station and the other at the entrance that connects to the footpath of the C.P.Pavalavannan vehicular subway on Jones Road in Saidapet.
The alcohol bottles found inside the subway point to consumption inside the facility. Next, the staircases are broken in many spots. In case of rain, there is water seepage, making it slippery. Further, the subway is not adequately illuminated.

A picture of squalor.
