Jenna Ortega harnessed the power of the sun on Monday night in New York City while doing press for her forthcoming film “Klara and the Sun,” with a stop on “Late Night With Seth Meyers” and a special screening of the film held at Crosby Street Hotel.
For her “Late Night” look, the “Wednesday” actress went for muted golds, wearing a minidress with long sleeves and a plunging neckline with knotted fabric at the waist. The dress itself was constructed with a textural fabric, which gave the piece an extra defining element.
As for finishing touches and accessories, Ortega sported a pair of strappy gold sandal heels, amplifying the sunny disposition of her attire, and wore a set of statement cocktail rings to boot.
Following her “Late Night” appearance, Ortega did a quick wardrobe change for the New York City screening of “Klara and the Sun.” The actress turned to designer Elias Matso for her look — a halter dress embellished with beads, bands of fabric and a fringy skirt.
The dress was designed with a plunging neckline and a formfitting silhouette with a strips of fabric that evoked sunlight and rays. Yellows, oranges and more cascaded throughout the dress, with sequined pieces elevating the look further.
A tiered, fringy skirt continued the sunny motif, with plenty of movement and a playful quality that transitioned the dress to the Christian Louboutin pointed-toe pumps Ortega wore to complement the look.
Throughout her “Klara and the Sun” promotional tour, Ortega, with guidance and support from her longtime stylist Enrique Melendez, has really harnessed the sun with her quasi-method-dressing style streak. Bursts of gold and yellow have been at the forefront of her wardrobe, wearing pieces by Calvin Klein, Torlowei and Roberto Cavalli, among others.
Ortega stars alongside Amy Adams in Oscar-winner Taika Waititi’s adaptation of “Klara and the Sun.” Based on the novel of the same name by Kazuo Ishiguro, the story follows Klara, played by Ortega, a robot girl who is sent to help a heartbroken family. The film hits theaters Friday.
