KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Thapa has urged people not to confine the joy of Dashain to their homes but to extend support to those in distress amid the country’s difficult situation caused by disasters and suffering.
Extending his warm wishes to Nepalis at home and abroad on the occasion of Bijaya Dashami, Thapa said this year’s festival comes at a challenging and sensitive time, with many families experiencing grief, hardship and pain.
“This year’s Dashain is being celebrated amid a national crisis and widespread suffering. Many families are facing sorrow, pain and hardship,” Thapa said. “At such a time, we should not limit the joy of the festival to our own homes. Let us support families in distress, share our happiness and stand by one another.”
Thapa expressed hope that Bijaya Dashami would inspire people to overcome their own weaknesses, become more sensitive to the suffering of others and strengthen the spirit of harmony and unity in society.
He also extended his best wishes for happiness, peace, good health and prosperity to all Nepalis on the occasion of the festival.
