Pianist Rem Urasin to perform two Algarve concerts

Internationally acclaimed pianist Rem Urasin will perform two concerts for Amigos de Música on October 27 and 29, replacing previously announced artist Hélène Tysman, who has withdrawn due to illness.

Originally from Tatarstan, Russia, Urasin has lived in Portugal since 2022 and is recognised for his interpretations of Chopin, whose complete works he has performed. He has received distinctions at major international competitions, including Warsaw’s Chopin Competition and the Monte Carlo Piano Masters.

The first concert, on Tuesday, October 27, will feature well-known works by Frédéric Chopin.

On Thursday, October 29, Urasin will perform music by Franz Schubert and Franz Liszt, alongside compositions by Tatarstan composers Rustem Yakhin and Farid Yarullin, including Shurale Fantasy, arranged by Urasin.

Both concerts begin at 7pm at Monte Os Agostos, an 18th-century country estate near Santa Bárbara de Nexe, with doors opening at 6.30pm.

Admission costs €35 for non-members, including refreshments, with advance booking required via [email protected]

Founded in 1991, Amigos de Música celebrates its 35th anniversary this year. The non-profit association organises approximately 16 concerts annually, bringing internationally renowned musicians to the Algarve.
