MOSCOW, October 12. /TASS/. Opponents of economic and energy cooperation between Russia and the United States hate it because they recognize its benefits for the world, Kirill Dmitriev, the Russian president’s special representative for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), said.
"Enemies of US-Russia economic and energy cooperation oppose it so strongly precisely because they understand its major benefits for the world and for peace," he wrote on X, commenting on reports that US President Donald Trump called the diesel deal with Russia a sound decision.
On October 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump held a phone call to discuss, among other things, petroleum product supplies. Putin said Moscow had reaffirmed its readiness to supply oil and petroleum products to the United States and global markets. According to Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, Russia will lift its ban on diesel exports ahead of schedule, supplying 300,000 tons in October, 500,000 tons in November and 1 million tons in December. Monthly supplies could subsequently reach 3 million tons. The US administration, in turn, issued a general license authorizing Russian diesel supplies to the global market until April 7, 2027.
