Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has set tongues wagging after a photo of him perched on the side of a presidential-style SUV in Elgeyo-Marakwet County went viral on Tuesday, October 13.

In the image, Sudi is seen gripping the roof of a black Toyota Land Cruiser while standing on its passenger-side running board as the vehicle navigates a dusty rural track.
Motorcade theatrics or symbol of action?
He is dressed in a blue-and-white patterned long-sleeve shirt, black trousers, and blue sneakers, with a black cap raised in one hand.
The SUV bears the Kenyan coat of arms on the front and a small national flag near the side mirror, two more black SUVs visible in the convoy behind it.
Sudi captioned the post:
"There is no room for time-wasting when the wheels of development are in motion."
The caption did not land quite the way the MP may have intended. Rather than inspire, it opened the door to a wave of sceptical commentary from Kenyans who were not convinced by the framing.
Samuel Muriithi Mwangi fired back with a pointed counter:
"Wheels of backwardness."
Clifford Kathurima went after Sudi's legislative record, writing:
"The question is. Is this why you never speak in Parliament?"
Others zeroed in on the choice of vehicle.
Masha Bj asked:
"I wonder how development is ferried with Prados."
Barrack Ron kept it simple:
"Which development are you talking about?"
Timothy M. Muya echoed the same sentiment:
"What development?"
The image, set against a backdrop of dry grass, open fields, scattered trees and rural fencing, presents Sudi as a man in motion, literally and politically.
Whether that message resonates with his constituents in Kapseret, or those watching from across the country, appears to be a matter of very divided opinion.
For some, the photo captures a hands-on lawmaker keeping pace with government activities in the field. For many others online, the stunt raised more questions than it answered about what exactly was being delivered, and to whom.
