GBARNGA, Bong County, October 15, 2026 – The Liberia National Police (LNP) in Gbarnga has forwarded four suspects to the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court in connection with separate alleged theft incidents involving a mineral stone and a mobile phone in Bong County.
Police identified George M. Junvakpeh and Henry Sumo as suspects in the alleged theft of a mineral stone from a mining company in Panta District #4.
According to police, Junvakpeh admitted during questioning that he processed the mineral stone and received L$40,000, of which he reportedly spent L$10,000.
However, Sumo denied involvement in the alleged theft.
In a separate case, police forwarded Abraham Binda and Michael Varney to court over the reported theft of a Samsung mobile phone belonging to a woman in Gbarnga’s Old Iron Gate Community.
During police questioning, Binda reportedly claimed he saw Varney flee with the phone but denied prior knowledge of the alleged theft.
Varney disputed Binda’s account, alleging that both men had planned the incident together.
Police said the mobile phone was returned before they forwarded the suspects to court.
The four suspects now face court proceedings over separate allegations.
All four are presumed innocent unless proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction.
