Coinbase and Deribit have opened six new equity perpetual futures markets. The new contracts give non-US traders round-the-clock leveraged exposure to names like Oracle, Palantir and Dell.
The launch went live on October 14, 2026, at 10:00 AM UTC. It’s the latest step in Coinbase’s push to become a one-stop shop for trading just about anything with a ticker.
What just went live
The six new markets are CRWV (CoreWeave), ORCL (Oracle), SOXS, DELL, PLTR (Palantir Technologies) and SNXX. The lineup mixes individual stocks with ETF-linked underlyings.
SOXS stands out. It tracks the Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bear 3X Shares ETF, a product built to move in the opposite direction of chip stocks, with triple the intensity.
All six contracts settle in cash using USDC, the dollar-pegged stablecoin. Nobody receives actual shares of Oracle or Dell. Profits and losses are paid out in digital dollars.
The markets trade 24/7. Traditional stock exchanges keep business hours, so these contracts let traders react to news while Wall Street sleeps.
Leverage of up to 50x is available on some products. At that level, a 2% move against a position can wipe out the trader’s posted margin entirely.
How equity perpetuals actually work
Because there is no expiry, these contracts need another way to stay anchored to the real stock price. That job falls to a funding mechanism.
Periodically, traders on one side of the market pay traders on the other side. If the perpetual trades above the underlying asset, longs pay shorts. If it trades below, shorts pay longs.
There’s an important catch. US persons are excluded from these products because of regulatory restrictions. The contracts are aimed at global users outside the United States.
The Deribit factor
This launch rests on a deal Coinbase made more than a year ago. In August 2025, Coinbase acquired Deribit for approximately $2.9 billion.
Coinbase completed the integration of the two platforms in early October 2026, just ahead of this rollout.
The new markets are listed on both Coinbase and Deribit. The setup is designed to pool activity and widen access to equity-focused futures for international traders.
It also isn’t Coinbase’s first run at this. Equity perpetuals previously rolled out in March and June 2026. Earlier this year, the company also introduced international contracts and thematic index products.
The Everything Exchange strategy
Coinbase has branded its broader ambition as the “Everything Exchange.” The goal is to unify trading across multiple asset classes under one roof.
Equity perpetuals sit right at that intersection. The underlying assets are traditional stocks. The collateral and settlement layer is a stablecoin. The trading hours follow crypto’s never-closes schedule.
What this means for traders and the market
For non-US traders, the immediate change is access. Stocks like Oracle and Dell can now be traded with leverage on weekends and overnight, settled in USDC, on a platform many already use for crypto.
For USDC, the launch adds another use case. Every equity perpetual on these platforms is margined and settled in the stablecoin, which ties its demand more closely to derivatives activity beyond crypto itself.
With US persons shut out, Coinbase is effectively building this product line for the rest of the world. Any shift in the US regulatory framework could change who gets access, and how quickly.
The March, June and October rollouts suggest Coinbase intends to keep adding names, and it now has the infrastructure to do so.
