No. 6 Alabama dropped its second straight game of the season Saturday after DeSean Bishop rushed for 159 yards and two touchdowns to lift No. 14 Tennessee over the Tide 26-10 on Saturday.
The performance left little to be desired, so says former Alabama and star Kareem Jackson.
“I don’t know who or what needs to change but that wasn’t the brand of ball that we’ve all grown accustomed to seeing coming out of Tuscaloosa,” the former defensive back posted on social media. “I can take losing to UGA in a hard fought game. But this today wasn’t Alabama football. And I know week to week it’s hard but we still gotta give ourselves a chance to be successful. We did not by no means today.”
The Crimson Tide (5-2, 3-2 SE) has lost consecutive regular-season games for the first time since 2007 after also losing to No. 1 Georgia last week.
The Volunteers (6-1, 3-1), meanwhile, relied on a stout defense and the steady play of quarterback George MacIntyre (197 passing yards) to win their third straight game.
Alabama had just 201 yards of total offense, including 54 rushing, and turned the ball over four times.
Tennessee has won three of its last five games against Alabama following a run of 15 consecutive defeats. All three of those wins came at home.
