The clip, reposted by PlugTV Kenya on October 19, 2026, was filmed in what appeared to be a home setting, with the woman speaking directly to the camera in a candid, conversational tone.
The document she held was labelled a "Request for Withdrawal of Boma Yangu Voluntary Savings," which she displayed as proof of her decision to exit the housing initiative.
Why she is having second thoughts
Speaking in a mix of Sheng and Swahili, the woman admitted she was now second-guessing herself after catching wind of new affordable housing developments being launched across the country.
She said she had gone to collect her refund but was now confused about whether she had made the right call, particularly after seeing units at projects like Primis Towers appearing to sell out.
"Turudishe nyumba, turudishe pesa?" she asked, questioning whether she should return the money or hold on for a house.
She noted that she had received a message indicating the units were sold out, but a video she had come across the day before made her wonder whether she had acted too hastily.
Despite the back and forth, she ended the clip on a hopeful note, saying she had changed her mind and was now willing to give the scheme another chance if she could be allocated a unit.

Inside Pioneer affordable housing units
The Boma Yangu platform has been a central pillar of Kenya's affordable housing agenda, allowing Kenyans to register and save towards home ownership under the government's programme.
Her public moment of indecision reflects the conflicting information many contributors say they are navigating as the rollout continues.
This comes a day after President William Ruto launched the Pioneer affordable housing units, leaving Kenyans with mixed reactions.
