Awareness camp held for rooftop solar panel installation

An awareness camp for registering applications to install new rooftop solar panels in homes was organised by Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited here on Friday.

Under the Seva Setu Abhiyan - Prime Minister’s Surya Ghar Muft: Bijli Yojana, implemented with financial subsidies from the union and state governments, an opportunity is provided to the public to install rooftop solar panels on houses, said the officials.

Information about the scheme, application registration, and guidance for obtaining bank loans were provided to the public at the camp.

Through this scheme, Union and State subsidies of up to ₹1 lakh can be obtained. It was announced that members of the public who wish to install solar power generation systems in their homes to reduce electricity consumption can benefit from this scheme.
