(ANSA) - ROME, 19 OTT - A woman has died of her injuries in hospital in Terni some five months after her husband attacked her with a hammer while she was on board a public-transport bus near the Umbrian town of Stroncone, sources said on Monday.
The husband was arrested by the Carabinieri police three days after the attack on charges of attempted femicide and is in prison.
He is now set to face femicide charges following the woman's death.
Italy has suffered a spate of shocking femicide cases in recent years.
Last year parliament approved a law making femicide a specific felony and mandating life imprisonment for those who commit it.
