Becca Tobin admitted news of the “Glee” reboot gives her “diarrhea” because there’s “no guarantee” she’ll be asked back.
“It’s a situation where I’m not an original cast member,” Tobin, who played Kitty Wilde on the Fox series, said on Thursday’s episode of her “LadyGang” podcast. “I was not in Season 1. I came in three seasons in.”
The actress continued, “It’s the type of thing where you just sit and you wait and you’re like, ‘Okay, is he [creator Ryan Murphy] going to decide to invite, ask, whatever?’ It’s such a weird feeling.”
Tobin, 40, said she has “anxiety” over the possibility that the “Glee” reboot will be all she’s asked about now — especially if she’s not a part of it.
“The high schooler in me is like, ‘Oh my God, nobody invited me to the party,'” Tobin shared.
Additionally, Tobin acknowledged that involving all the original cast members, as well as new additions, in the reboot will be “incredibly challenging.”
“I don’t know what the plan is,” Tobin said, noting that “it’s not a mystery” that Murphy, 60, already got some of the show’s original stars to return.
“I don’t know if he confirmed it [or] somebody else, but that he’s talked to like the original cast members,” Tobin noted. “Obviously, he would have. What if he announced it and nobody wanted to come back? I mean, that would be insane because nobody’s working right now. And we’re all poor.”
However, Tobin “can’t say who” is joining the reboot — and claimed she has “not received a call.”
In fact, Tobin feels like there might not be interest in revisiting her sassy character.
“Nobody’s sitting around being like, we’ve got to figure out a way to get Kitty Wilde back into this show,” she said.
As for her former co-stars, Tobin explained that she’s “frustrated” on their behalf because they “gave their souls and hearts and everything to America,” only to “work maybe not ever again in a large capacity.”
“I’m thrilled for my friends. I am so happy,” she continued. “Then I’m also really anxious and bummed out to be in this position. I don’t know if that makes any sense.”
Disney+ and Hulu officially announced the “Glee” reboot on Wednesday, after Murphy revealed last month that he finished writing the script.
Lea Michele is set to return as Rachel Berry, according to multiple sources for Variety.
“It’s still early-ish days, but it feels good and we’re happy to get the band back together,” a separate source told the outlet.
Heather Morris, Chord Overstreet and Jenna Ushkowitz teased their returns as Brittany Pierce, Sam Evans and Tina Cohen-Chang, respectively, on social media.
Meanwhile, sources told Deadline that Matthew Morrison, who played Will Schuester, is not in talks to appear in the reboot series, but is “hopeful” he’ll be included.
The beloved Fox dramedy, which Murphy co-created with Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, aired for six seasons from 2009 to 2015, winning six Emmy Awards and four Golden Globes.
Three of the show’s main stars — Cory Monteith, Mark Salling and Naya Rivera — have tragically died since the show debuted.
