Member representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency, Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, has called on the Kaduna State Government and security agencies to intensify efforts to tackle recurring kidnappings in Millennium City, particularly around Dan Bushiya.
In a statement signed by him on Monday, October 12, 2026, El-Rufai described the incidents as unacceptable and demanded urgent action to rescue victims and prevent further abductions.
“I am deeply concerned by the recurring kidnappings in Millennium City, particularly around Dan Bushiya. These incidents are unacceptable and demand urgent, decisive action,” he said.
“No resident should live in fear of being abducted in their own home or community. We cannot allow kidnapping to become normalised in Kaduna, especially in the heart of our metropolis,” he added.
The lawmaker cited the latest incident involving the family of Ahmad Zakka, who was reportedly abducted alongside his wife and infant daughter.
He called on the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant security agencies to strengthen intelligence gathering, intensify security operations and ensure the victims’ immediate rescue.
“There must also be sustained measures to prevent further attacks and bring the perpetrators to justice,” El-Rufai said.

He warned that the security situation required urgent attention beyond Dan Bushiya and Millennium City, urging authorities to protect neighbouring communities, including Malali and Unguwan Rimi, from further attacks.
“Our people deserve more than expressions of concern; they deserve tangible results,” he said.
El-Rufai stressed that the safety of residents must remain a priority, warning against allowing criminal elements to take control of communities.
“The security of our people is non-negotiable. We must not surrender our communities to criminals or allow families to live at the mercy of kidnappers,” he said.
He prayed for the protection of residents and the safe return of those held in captivity, saying, “May Allah protect our people and grant the safe return of all those in captivity.”
