The jackpot prize grew to its record-breaking high as weekly draws continued to produce no winners until a ticket holder from Alberta, somewhere outside of Calgary and Edmonton, matched all seven numbers, the Western Canada Lottery Corp. told Postmedia.
The winning numbers for the Oct. 20 draw are 8, 15, 19, 23, 26, 28, 34, and bonus 38.
An Albertan also won just more $200,000 by matching six numbers and a bonus, sharing that second-place spot in the draw with someone from B.C. and someone from Ontario.

As the prize money dwindle, the number of winners increases, with more than two million people claiming a free play from Tuesday’s draw.
Another draw, the Maxplus, saw another Albertan from outside the two major cities win $100,000, and someone from Calgary taking home just over $33,000.
WCLC also reminded lotto players to check tickets dating back to last year, as several unclaimed prizes in the province remain, including four $1-million wins.
