The Delhi Police has granted permission for singer Diljit Dosanjh’s concert at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 30, IANS quoted the event’s ticketing partner BookMyShow as saying on Friday.
This came a day after the police denied clearance for the event because of threat-related inputs and security requirements during the festive season.
The Hindu festival of Diwali will be celebrated on November 8.
On Friday, BookMyShow clarified that any media reports claiming that the concert had been cancelled were inaccurate.
“Permission for the event had been temporarily withheld, not cancelled, and the two should not be confused,” IANS quoted the platform as saying.
It added that the police had asked the concert’s organisers and BookMyShow to ensure additional safety and traffic management measures.
“BookMyShow Live had a cordial meeting with Delhi Police, presented a detailed plan and have assured Delhi Police of full compliance with all security/traffic requirements,” said the ticketing platform.
It added: “On that basis, permission for the event has been reconsidered and issued.”
After Delhi, Dosanjh is scheduled to perform in Indore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Lucknow and Chandigarh in November and December as part of his Aura India Tour.
