The Tennessee Titans have the worst offense in the NFL. A big reason why is the lack of support they receive from the rushing attack. At 0-5, the Titans currently possess the 27th ranked rushing offense in the NFL.
Both Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears are on expiring contracts. It’s difficult to envision GM Mike Borgonzi re-signing either of them after the lackluster season they are having. If the Titans want to continue supporting Cam Ward, they should consider bringing in a veteran RB to aid the offense.
Let’s look ahead to some potential free-agent running backs the Titans can consider signing in 2027.
Brian Robinson Jr., Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta Falcons running back Brian Robinson Jr. has rushed for 210 yards and four touchdowns this season despite backing up Bijan Robinson. He’ll almost certainly be looking for an opportunity to be a feature back next offseason. Robinson probably isn’t a true bellcow, but he’s better than any ball-carrier the Titans have right now.
Zach Charbonnet, Seattle Seahawks
Zach Charbonnet is about to return for the Seattle Seahawks from a torn ACL injury he suffered during the playoffs last year. Everyone around the league will be monitoring his form once he’s back. The Seahawks don’t believe in signing RBs to second contracts. They made the grave mistake of letting Kenneth Walker III leave, and just drafted Jadarian Price with a first-round pick. Charbonnet will almost certainly hit the open market.
Chase Brown, Cincinnati Bengals
Chase Brown is probably the best running back currently playing on an expiring contract. Can the Cincinnati Bengals afford to re-sign him after designating so much money on offense to Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, and Tee Higgins? Probably not. Adding Brown would provide the Titans offense with a true dual-threat back, even if he’s currently struggling in 2026.
