Glastonbury 2027 is still eight months away, but the battle to predict who will headline the legendary festival is already well underway.
And with everyone from Taylor Swift to Sam Fender being tipped for a coveted spot on the Pyramid Stage, we want to know who YOU would most like to see take to the stage.
After tickets sold out in just 42 minutes, thousands of fans have already forked out more than £400 for the privilege of attending next year’s festival, despite having absolutely no idea who they’ll be watching.
Organiser Emily Eavis has confirmed that all three headliners have already been booked, although their identities are expected to remain a secret until the spring.
Naturally, that hasn’t stopped the rumour mill from going into overdrive.
From chart-topping newcomers to legendary rock bands and pop royalty, there are plenty of contenders who could make next year’s festival one for the history books.
Who is rumoured to headline Glastonbury 2027?
Sam Fender has emerged as one of the strongest contenders, with recent reports claiming the Geordie singer has already secured a headline slot.
The 32-year-old previously performed on the Pyramid Stage in 2022, but a headline appearance would mark a major milestone in his career.
Following his Mercury Prize win for People Watching and the record-breaking success of his Olivia Dean collaboration Rein Me In, there’s certainly no shortage of hits to fill a set.
But he’s facing some pretty formidable competition for the public’s affections.
Harry Styles would undoubtedly be a popular choice, particularly as the former One Direction star has yet to headline the festival as a solo artist.
And then there’s Rihanna, whose long-awaited return to live music remains high on many fans’ wish lists.
The Umbrella singer has never headlined Glastonbury, and a Pyramid Stage performance would be a spectacular way to make her comeback.
Taylor Swift is another superstar with unfinished business at Worthy Farm.
She was originally scheduled to headline in 2020, only for the festival to be cancelled due to the pandemic.
Seven years later, could 2027 finally be the year Swifties get their Glastonbury moment?
Meanwhile, Beyoncé delivered one of the festival’s most memorable headline performances in 2011, and a return would surely be welcomed with open arms.
Fellow British superstar Ed Sheeran could also be in the running, with next year marking exactly a decade since his last headline appearance in 2017.
Could a legendary rock band return to the Pyramid Stage?
For those who prefer their Glastonbury headliners armed with electric guitars, there are some particularly exciting possibilities.
The Rolling Stones famously made their Glastonbury debut in 2013, and another appearance from Mick Jagger and company would be a major coup for organisers.
Irish rock legends U2 could also make a triumphant return, having last headlined in 2011.
And Muse have already proved themselves more than capable of commanding the Pyramid Stage, having headlined the festival in 2004, 2010 and 2016.
A fourth appearance would put them among Glastonbury’s most frequent headline acts.
Of course, there’s also the small matter of Oasis.
Ever since Liam and Noel Gallagher reunited, fans have been desperate to see the brothers bring their enormous catalogue of hits back to Worthy Farm.
Unfortunately, Eavis has already poured cold water on rumours of an Oasis headline performance.
But this is a dream line-up we’re talking about, and there’s no harm in imagining 100,000 people singing Don’t Look Back in Anger together.
What about the next generation of headliners?
Of course, Glastonbury isn’t just about bringing back the biggest names in music.
It’s also about giving the next generation of superstars their moment in the spotlight.
Chappell Roan has rapidly established herself as one of pop’s most exciting live performers, and a Glastonbury headline debut could cement her status as a global superstar.
Little Simz would also be a compelling choice, bringing her critically acclaimed catalogue and commanding stage presence to the festival’s biggest platform.
Electronic favourite Fred Again could offer something entirely different, while Miley Cyrus would bring an impressive collection of pop anthems and rock-inspired performances.
And there’s always Eminem, whose first Glastonbury headline set would surely attract one of the weekend’s biggest crowds.
Madonna, meanwhile, has been another long-rumoured possibility, although Eavis has reportedly ruled her out of next year’s event.
Still, when it comes to assembling the ultimate festival line-up, a little wishful thinking is practically compulsory.
