Riyadh – The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) announced the rescheduling of the Gulf-European Summit, which was scheduled to be held in Riyadh on October 24, to a date to be agreed upon by both sides.
GCC Secretary-General Jassem Mohammed Al-Budaiwi stated that the decision was made due to "the continued attempts by the Houthi militia to target Saudi Arabia and its civilian infrastructure, the extension of the suspension of operations at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, and out of concern for the safety of the participating delegations."
Al-Budaiwi affirmed the GCC and the European Union's commitment to creating the appropriate conditions for holding the summit, in a way that strengthens cooperation between the two sides and achieves growth and prosperity for their countries and peoples.
