Solo Leveling: Arise changes combat forever in 2.5 update

Netmarble has confirmed that Solo Leveling: Arise will receive its 2.5th Anniversary update, branded "Beyond," on Thursday, October 22, 2026. The patch introduces a four-Hunter battle mode, replaces Special Commission with a seasonal card system, and raises Sung Jinwoo’s level cap, according to the developer’s official notices.

Deep Containment Zone adds four-Hunter teams

The headline addition is Deep Containment Zone, a team mode where four Hunters fight together instead of the usual three. Teams take on Experiment bosses, variant versions of familiar enemies that cause wave impacts, monster spawns, and environmental hazards such as zone collapses and gas leaks. The mode unlocks after defeating Igris in Expert Mode and launches as a beta. Experiment Igris, weak to Water, and Experiment Kargalgan, weak to Wind, will each appear for two weeks. Netmarble has also previewed a Union combat system for the mode but says it is still in development and may change.

Seasonal cards replace special commissions

Special Commission is being retired in favor of a seasonal collection system built around cards, which Netmarble’s official account says feature iconic scenes from the original series. Duplicate cards earned during a season are refunded as a dedicated currency that can buy higher-grade card packs, so progress is not wasted. Netmarble says the overhaul responds to player feedback that Total Power had stopped feeling meaningful.

Growth systems and anniversary rewards

The update raises Sung Jinwoo’s maximum level from 160 to 170 and adds a job change called Requiem. Stone Statues provide further growth for Sung Jinwoo, Successors, and Hunters, with each statue carrying three stats that players can refine. Battlefield of Infinity challenges players to defeat as many continuously spawning bosses as possible within a time limit. New characters include Holy Guardian Barrier Go Gunhee, a Water element Buster Hunter, and Successor of the Fangs Velvet, a Fire element Successor.

Netmarble says players can earn up to 300 anniversary special draw tickets through the October update and up to 200 more through the November update. The redeem code 25THANNIV, available from October 22, grants a 2.5th Anniversary SSR Hunter and an exclusive weapon selection ticket. The game recently passed 70 million downloads. Netmarble’s notice list also states that support for the Epic Games Store version ends on October 22.
