Former NBA player turned internet troll Enes Kanter Freedom once again tried to stir up controversy and overshadow the WNBA, but this time it may have backfired.
Kanter Freedom alleged the Atlanta Dream denied him courtside seats to Game 3 of the WNBA Finals against the Golden State Valkyries on Wednesday night, but the Dream had a very different story. Kanter Freedom started by saying the “director of security” was “banning him” from his seats that he purchased.
The internet provocateur recorded a video call declining a move from his seat, saying he was going to show up courtside.
“ATTENTION! Just talked to the director of security, and they are now banning us from our purchased seats,” he wrote on X. “Shame on [WNBA]. I guess they have to escort me out of the building. Stay tuned.”

Atlanta Dream Say Kanter Freedom Was Offered A Private Suite After He Complained About ‘Safety’
🚨 ATTENTION! Just talked to director of security of the @NBA and they are now banning us from our purchased seats. Shame on @WNBA I guess they have to escort me out of the building. Stay tuned. https://t.co/f2adrlkWhx

While Kanter Freedom is attempting to make it look like he was not allowed in his courtside seats because of his shirt, which read, “What is a woman?”, the Atlanta Dream say Kanter Freedom complained to the team, the WNBA, State Farm Arena, and “federal, state, and local authorities” to say he feared for his safety.
The Dream then accommodated Kanter Freedom by moving him to a suite and providing him with private security for the night.

“Enes Kanter Freedom has contacted federal, state and local authorities, the WNBA, the Atlanta Dream and State Farm Arena officials to express concerns about his personal safety during his planned attendance at Game 3 of the WNBA Finals tonight,” State Farm Arena said in a statement. “The safety and security of our guests and team members is our highest priority.
“Following consultations with the WNBA, Dream ownership, State Farm Arena leadership and security officials, we have directed Mr. Freedom to watch tonight’s game from a private luxury suite. This arrangement is intended to address his security concerns and help provide a safe and positive experience for him and other guests. The suite will have additional security and will be his designated viewing location for the game. State police have also assigned an officer to Mr. Freedom at his request.”
Fans immediately saw through Kanter Freedom’s latest stunt.
“So he initiated contact with the league and then made a show of how they responded to his ‘concerns,'” one fan wrote on X. The insults continued to pour in, when the truth of the situation came to light.
To recap: Kanter Freedom complained about his safety; the WNBA, Dream, and State Farm Arena took steps to protect him and even upgraded his seats, and he still tried to make a show out of being “silenced” about his opinion. It looks like the grift doesn’t always work in your favor.
As for the actual game, the Dream blew out the visiting Valkyries, 97-71, and took a 2-1 lead in the series. Angel Reese was once again the game’s top scorer with 21 points to go with a game-high 12 rebounds, three assists, and three steals. That’s why she is Defensive Player of the Year, and on pace to be the WNBA Finals MVP if she can continue willing the Dream to victory.
