Professional golfers live on the move, traveling to a different tournament site each week. For those at the top of the world rankings, the stage is the entire globe, making physical conditioning a matter directly tied to results. World No. 2 Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland has now found a solution to that problem through a new sponsor.
Global logistics company DP World said on the 14th, Korea time, that McIlroy has signed a multiyear global partnership agreement with the company and will serve as its global ambassador. "We will use our worldwide logistics network to provide McIlroy with a customized fitness and recovery environment at every tournament venue," the company said.
Under the deal, DP World will supply two fitness and recovery trailers at tournament sites when McIlroy competes on the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour. The PGA Tour also provides trailers for players at its events, but these two are reserved solely for McIlroy.
The trailers are equipped with strength and cardio machines, a cold plunge pool, an infrared sauna and recovery devices. DP World plans to handle every stage of the operation, from customs clearance to storage, delivery and collection, so that McIlroy can focus only on training and recovery once he arrives at a venue.

"Consistency really matters when you compete around the world," McIlroy said. "Being able to train and recover in the same environment every week takes one worry off our team's plate. Now I can concentrate solely on preparing for tournaments and playing." Yuvraj Narayan, group chief executive of DP World, said, "Supporting McIlroy's performance with our network and logistics expertise is a natural fit for us.". "This partnership will set a new standard for how companies support athletic performance," he said.
