By Zoila Palma: Mopan Technical High School hosted its first-ever stakeholder dinner last night, recognizing valued stakeholders who have supported the institution and seeking additional assistance for projects aimed at improving the school’s facilities and student programs.
The event provided an opportunity for the school to acknowledge the contributions of its stakeholders while sharing its plans for continued development and the resources needed to enhance the learning environment for its students.
Among the projects for which the school is seeking support is the construction of a new concrete roundabout entrance to improve accessibility and enhance the campus entrance. During the rainy season, the entrance becomes muddy and nearly impassable, creating challenges for students and teachers accessing the school.
Belizean Studies teacher Casi Sagastume explained that the vision is to create a concrete entrance that offers a more welcoming appearance while improving safety and accessibility for students, teachers, and visitors.
The institution is also looking to acquire new kitchen equipment for its Food and Nutrition students, install air-conditioning units in its science laboratories, and obtain sporting equipment for its school teams.
Through the stakeholder dinner, Mopan Technical High School hopes to strengthen its partnerships with individuals, businesses and organizations that can contribute to its continued growth.
The school emphasized the importance of collaboration in providing students with improved facilities, practical learning opportunities and the resources needed to excel academically and beyond the classroom.
