Kostas Tsimikas enjoyed a memorable night on Tuesday as he captained Liverpool for the first time in his 120th appearance for the club, helping the Reds secure a commanding 6-3 victory over Austria’s LASK.
The Greek defender wore the captain’s armband for one of the world’s most historic football clubs, marking a significant milestone in his Liverpool career. The occasion ended in success, with Tsimikas contributing to Liverpool’s opening goal by providing the assist for Araujo.
Bradley Barcola scored a hat-trick as Liverpool produced an emphatic attacking performance.
Another Greek player, Tasos Douvikas, also found the net during the evening’s Champions League action. The Como striker came on in the 61st minute against Feyenoord in Rotterdam, but his side lost 3-2. Douvikas scored in the third minute of stoppage time to set the final score.
