How to Dual Wield Pistols in Cyberpunk 2077

Night City has always had room for extravagant weapons, so why settle for one pistol when you can unleash twice the trouble? With the Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners 2 update 2.5, you can now embrace the gunslinger fantasy and blast through enemies with a pistol in each hand. So, if you’re wondering how to dual wield pistols in Cyberpunk 2077, here’s everything you need to know from perks to compatible weapons.

Dual wield is an official combat playstyle introduced with the Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners 2 (2.5) update, instead of being a feature of third-party mods. The skill is introduced as a dedicated perk along with 4 additional upgrades. However, you don’t automatically unlock it after you update the game.

To dual wield in Cyberpunk 2077, you’ll first need to unlock the Double Trouble perk in the Cool attribute skill tree, which becomes accessible once you’ve invested enough attribute points. Once unlocked, you can only use Pistols and Revolvers to dual wield in Cyberpunk 2077. Here’s how you can unlock the perk to dual wield in the game.

How to Get the Double Trouble Perk in Cyberpunk 2077

To unlock dual wield playstyle in Cyberpunk 2077, you must raise your Cool attribute to level 9 and invest a Perk Point into Double Trouble. Follow the steps below to do so:

• Launch Cyberpunk 2077 and make sure the new Edgerunners 2 update 2.5 is installed.
• Open the Character menu and navigate to the Cool attribute tree.
• Increase your Cool attribute to level 9.
• Invest a Perk Point in Double Trouble to unlock it.

The Double Trouble perk features a second level that introduces a special attack called Heywood Hurricane, but you can start using two pistols at once before upgrading to it.

How to Dual Wield Two Pistols at Once in Cyberpunk 2077

Unlocking the Double Trouble perk is half the process. Now you need to equip two compatible weapons to unleash the power of dual wield playstyle in Cyberpunk 2077. So, here’s how to do it:

• Open your Inventory and select your equipped weapon.
• Select a Power Pistol or a Power Revolver as your primary weapon.
• Use the newly available secondary weapon slot on the left to equip another compatible handgun from the list.
• Attach any mods and attachments you want for your weapons and exit the inventory screen.

You will now hold two handguns and be able to fire them simultaneously. You don’t need to equip two identical guns either. Combine different Power Pistols and Power Revolvers to suit your style. However, do note that dual wielding in Cyberpunk 2077 has its own accuracy and damage considerations. So if you’re planning to unlock it, do it well before you complete the Clampdown quest in Cyberpunk 2077 to give you an edge.

Cyberpunk 2077 Double Trouble Perk Levels and Upgrades

The Double Trouble perk is the foundation for dual wield pistols in Cyberpunk 2077. It has two levels: the first unlocks the dual-wielding skill itself, while the second gives you access to an aggressive combat ability called Heywood Hurricane.

If you’re returning to Night City after a long break, the perk system might look different from what you remember, thanks to the major overhaul introduced with the Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.0. So, here’s more on the Double Trouble perk levels:

Double Trouble Level 1

As you already know, this level is the base for unlocking dual wielding, but there’s a small catch. Here are the buffs and debuffs you gain for unlocking this perk:

• Each equipped weapon deals 37.5% less damage when dual-wielded.
• When aiming, recoil and bullet spread are reduced by 15%.

Double Trouble Level 2

Investing another Perk Point into Double Trouble unlocks the following:

• Heywood Hurricane, a special attack that automatically fires both equipped weapons for 1 second with an increased 50% bullet spread.
• Successfully landed shots also replenish the ammunition consumed by those hits.
• But it replaces the quick melee attack.

Adding to the levels of Double Trouble, there are four additional perks that make dual-wielding pistols interesting. These include stamina consumption, accuracy, survivability, and more such buffs. Here are all the additional perks for Double Trouble:

Triple Tequila

• +10% Mitigation Chance after neutralizing an enemy when dual-wielding.
• Has a duration of 15 seconds and can be stacked 3 times.
• The stacks are consumed when performing a Heywood Hurricane, giving +15% damage per stack. However, stacks are not earned during this time.

Keep ‘Em Comin’

• +40 Stamina after neutralizing an enemy when dual-wielding.
• +20 additional Stamina per stack of Triple Tequila.

Splash of Love

• +50% fire rate for Heywood Hurricane.
• +1 second duration for Heywood Hurricane at max stacks of Triple Tequila

Two Right Hands

• -25% Stamina cost when hip-firing with dual-wield.
• -20% recoil and -20% bullet spread when aiming with dual-wield.

That completes our guide on how to dual wield after the 2.5 update that arrives alongside the release of Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2. This mechanic fits naturally in Night City’s over-the-top combat. So which mission are you embarking on with this dual-wielding playstyle? Tell us in the comments below.
