If you're looking to get into PC gaming on a tight budget, Best Buy has a deal that is worth a look. Best Buy's 'Deal of the Day' has a cheap HP Victus gaming laptop that could fit the bill, provided you keep your expectations in check. It's not going to set any performance records, but it gets you a dedicated NVIDIA GPU and a high-refresh-rate display for less than the cost of Apple's MacBook Neo.
HP Victus Gaming Laptop With RTX 3050 Is Best Buy's Deal Of The Day
For today only, you can score this 15.6-inch HP Victus gaming laptop for $649.99 at Best Buy. The retailer advertises a $475 discount against its $1,124.99 "comparable value," though let's not pretend anyone should be paying that much for this configuration. That said, the $650 sale price makes this the least expensive GeForce RTX 3050 laptop currently listed at Best Buy.
While you won't set any 3DMark records with an RTX 3050, it's a serviceable discrete GPU for esports and lighter 1080p gaming in general. It also gets you access to various RTX features, which notably includes DLSS upscaling.
Also under the hood is an Intel Core i5-13420H processor based on Raptor Lake. That's an 8-core/12-thread chip with four performance cores clocked at up to 4.6GHz and four efficiency cores clocked at up to 3.4GHz, along with 12MB of L3 cache.
Sticking with the budget theme, you only get 8GB of DDR4-3200 memory and 512GB of solid state drive (SSD) storage, though you can at least upgrade one or both when the market settles down. The display, meanwhile, is a 15.6-inch IPS screen with a 1920x1080 resolution and fast 144Hz refresh rate.
Alienware 15 Gaming Laptop Hits $999

If you want a bit more firepower and have a bit more coin to throw at a laptop, then check out this Alienware 15 configuration that is on sale for $999.99 at Best Buy.
Here again, we won't over-analyze the advertised $600 savings. However, you do get a decent amount of hardware and features for a penny shy of a grand (before tax, of course). This one touts a 15.3-inch display with a 1920x1200 resolution (16:10 aspect ratio) and 165Hz refresh rate, powered by an Intel Core 7 240H Raptor Lake processor with 10 cores (six performance cores clocked at up to 5.2GHz and four efficient cores clocked at up to 4GHz), 16 threads, and 24MB of L3 cache.
For graphics and gaming, this one steps up to a GeForce RTX 4050. You also get twice as much memory with 16GB of DDR5-5600, and the same amount of SSD storage (512GB).
