The rapper’s reported head injury now has a new explanation, but officials have not publicly confirmed the alleged fight

Sean “Diddy” Combs was taken from the federal prison FCI Fort Dix to a hospital after suffering a head injury during a fight with another inmate, Christopher “Dudus” Coke, a convicted Jamaican drug trafficker. The information comes from sources inside the prison; authorities have not publicly confirmed the altercation.
TMZsays the fight happened Friday, Oct. 9, during Combs’ recreation period. The outlet’s sources claim tensions rose after an NBC News report alleged that Combs had access to contraband and special treatment behind bars. They say prison staff later conducted raids and confiscated cellphones, including one allegedly belonging to Coke.

What has been confirmed about Diddy’s injury
People had previously confirmed through a source that Combs was taken to a hospital early Saturday, Oct. 10, with a non-life-threatening head injury and returned to prison later that day. The source did not initially identify the cause. Combs’ spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer, said his team was “working to confirm the circumstances.” The Bureau of Prisons has not confirmed the fight, and the prison does not comment on individual inmates’ medical status.
Later reported that a source also described a fight with a convicted drug lord, though its account did not name Coke or publicly establish the details. That offers some corroboration of an altercation, but it does not amount to an official account of what happened or why.
Coke, known as “Dudus,” is not just another inmate with a notorious nickname. The U.S. Justice Department identified him as the leader of the Jamaica-based Shower Posse and said he was sentenced to 23 years in 2012 after pleading guilty to racketeering conspiracy and conspiracy to commit assault.
The alleged clash also follows reports that Combs had been placed in the prison’s Special Housing Unit after the NBC story about his purported privileges. TMZ says he was already being held there and was outside for his daily break when the fight occurred; it further reports that both men were sent to the unit for two weeks. Those details have not been confirmed by prison officials.
