NIBONG TEBAL: Pakatan Harapan (PH) will contest the 16th Melaka state election as one team under its 'Melaka Rumah Kita' slogan, said Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek.
The PKR Wanita chief said the coalition remained committed to presenting its proposals to voters in the state.
"From the perspective of team dynamics and commitment, we remain Pakatan Harapan. We will go into the Melaka state election as one PH team," she told reporters after attending the Jelajah Negaraku: Aku Kasih Malaysia programme for the Nibong Tebal parliamentary constituency at Taman Widuri today.
Fadhlina, who is also education minister, said the 'Melaka Rumah Kita' slogan was part of the coalition's approach to engaging voters and offering an agenda aligned with the aspirations of Melakans.
She said greater participation by women in politics was among the key areas being highlighted ahead of the polls.
"PKR is fielding 30 per cent women candidates this time, which I think is also a good offer for the people to consider, particularly in continuing to elevate women as candidates for the Melaka state legislative assembly," she said.
She said women should be given greater opportunities to participate in decision-making and state administration.
The Election Commission has set Oct 31 for nomination day, Nov 10 for early voting and Nov 14 as polling day for the 16th Melaka state election.
Pakatan Harapan chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim last night unveiled the coalition's 21 candidates for the Nov 14 Melaka election, with former chief minister Adly Zahari set to defend Bukit Katil.
