John Lynch has had high praise for Brock Purdy amid his fantastic start to the season with the San Francisco 49ers.
The 49ers were in Monday Night Football action against the Washington Commanders this week and were able to extend their unbeaten run to six games.
While at the stadium, San Francisco’s President of Football Operations, Lynch, spoke to Pat McAfee about Purdy on the field.
When doing so, he expressed that ‘the great thing’ about Brock is that all he cares about is winning.
John Lynch says all Brock Purdy cares about is winning
Lynch stated: “He’s [Purdy] a stud. He has been from the time he got here. You know, I tell people all the time, there’s an old saying, don’t count your reps, make your reps count.
“Early on in his tenure here, first training camp, he’s getting like four reps a day, but he’s not being safe, he’s ripping the ball. Ever since then, we knew we had a player.
“He’s done nothing but get better his entire time [here].”
McAfee then mentioned that Purdy was going to set the record for the highest career passer rating against the Commanders, to which Lynch responded by mentioning how all he cares about is winning.
He added: “We just want to get wins though, that’s the great thing about Brock, that’s all he cares about.”
Purdy, of course, did end up breaking the record on Monday as the 49ers secured a 23-17 win to go 6-0.
They are now due to return to action this Sunday against the 2-4 Atlanta Falcons.
