Angel Reese played well in Game 1 of the WNBA Finals for the Atlanta Dream, but the former LSU women's basketball star came out on the losing side. The Golden State Valkyries rallied late to take a 1-0 series lead with a 68-64 win.
Reese scored 11 of her 14 points in the first quarter to help the Dream take a 22-14 lead through the first 10 minutes of play. She did not make a field goal in the second half. Reese pulled down 12 rebounds, including seven on the defensive end, to go along with two steals and a block.
Game 2 of the WNBA Finals tips off on Monday in San Francisco. Reese and the Dream will aim to even the best-of-seven series before it shifts to Atlanta for Games 3 and 4. The Dream are 0-4 against the Valkyries in 2026, including all three regular-season meetings.
