The National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party, PRP, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has said nobody should attempt to manipulate the votes of the North if the region rejects President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Baba-Ahmed also warned that nobody should attempt to overturn northern votes or buy off the region into forgetting its humiliation under Tinubu's administration.
In a statement he signed, the former presidential aide insisted that northern voters would defend their dignity and make their voices heard in 2027.
He said: “The problem is that they think they can pay people in the North to forget the humiliation and lack of care we’ve suffered under Tinubu’s rule.
“We will show them that we are also citizens who deserve respect and our voices matter.
“If we decide not to support the APC or Tinubu, no one should try to change the result of the election.”
This comes after some political stakeholders in the North backed Tinubu's re-election in 2027.
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State and his counterpart from Kano State, Abba Yusuf, had said the President will receive massive votes from the North in 2027.
