The Giallorossi were fired up for this truly special event, as they had not qualified for this tournament in seven years.
They opened with a 1-1 draw away to Fenerbahce, but the first home fixture was a massive event, with legend Francesco Totti in the stands.

The real show was put on by the fans, starting with the tifo in before kick-off showing the Latin phrase ‘Sin-Metu’, which translates to ‘Without Fear.’
Once the game had started, a large banner was unveiled with a message for Mourinho, who won the Conference League for the Giallorossi, and then reached the Europa League Final before he was sacked in January 2024.
“Whoever brings glory to Roma, will always be honoured by Roma… Today your hands consecrate the rich spoils and the people tribute you with eternal glory,” read a banner in the Curva Sud.
It was followed by a huge flag depicting Mourinho holding the Conference League trophy.

There were other banners around the Stadio Olimpico too that Mourinho waved thanks to, crediting his strong rapport with the fans.
“For a special world, for an immortal Roma, Ave Mou!”

Another referenced the controversial Europa League Final defeat of 2023.
“In Budapest you defended us all the way to Hell, welcome back Jose, eternal Romanista!”
